In our PTA 2850 course, we had the opportunity to purchase the study guide for the National PTA exam that we will be taking about a month or so after we graduate. As a benefit of purchasing the textbook, we were all able to have access to multiple practice exams that take questions from previous exams and lets us get a good feel for what the test will be like. We did this just over half way through our Spring semester. Though many of us in the class did not feel prepared enough, taking the test gave us a good barometer of where we were at in the program and gives us a way of tracking what topics and course content lessons we need to focus more of our time on. I really enjoyed being able to take the practice test. I hope that I am diligent enough at looking up all the answers to each question I missed and those I guessed on to understand the rationale and become more confident in my approach to the real National PTA exam. Attached is a reflection that we were asked to write up containing our thoughts of the tests, where our strengths and weaknesses were and how we would use the information to get better for the next tests.
